“WITNey the Hobo” was a popular children’s television character on eastern North Carolina’s WITN-TV (Channel 7) during the 1960s and later. He hosted the afternoon kids’ show “The Funny Page,” featuring clown makeup, a raggedy costume, and interactive segments with a live studio audience of local children. Sammy Bland was the co-host with WITNey the Hobo before Bob Chesson took over.
